Today, I am honored to share an interview with Suzan Tisdale.

I fell in love with Suzan’s debut novel Laiden’s Daughter (The Clan MacDougall Series).
I have her to thank, indirectly, for Highland Solution. I loved Laiden’s Daughter and when I learned that Suzan self-published, I decided to finally write one of the stories floating around in my head. I thought if I couldn’t get a publisher interested, I could try publishing myself. Thankfully I did get a publisher, because now that I realize just how much work is involved I’m not sure I could have done it.

Do you have other works in process?
ALWAYS! Yes, I’m currently working on my sixth novel. It is titled Frederick’s Queen, Book Two of the Clan Graham Series.

Who will enjoy your book?
My readers range in age from 14 to 87, women and men. I blend mystery and intrigue with romance. My books are considered ‘clean’ so grandma doesn’t have to be embarrassed to read them. They have passion, but it’s a cleaner, more humorous approach.

Did you have input into the cover art? If so did it turn out as you had hoped?
I am an indie author so yes, I have total input on all my cover art. My cover artist is Carrie with Seductive Musings and she does lovely, phenomenal work.

Do you have a favorite author? If so who?
Favorite? That is a very long list. If you ask if there is an author who I idolize then I have to say Julie Garwood.

What authors do you think have most influenced you?
Laurin Wittig, Carmen Cain, Tanya Anne Crosby and Julie Garwood.

What draws you to your genre?
The history, days gone by that will never return.

If you could instantly transport yourself to anywhere in the world right now where would you go and why?
Scotland. First I’d hit libraries in Stirling and Edinburgh then a pub.

If you could inherit a comfortable home in any city in the world that would be yours to use but not sell, where would it be?
A castle in Scotland…pretty much anywhere in Scotland.

If you could have been the author of any single book already written, which one would it be?
The Wedding, by Julie Garwood.

If you could eat one food in any quantity for the rest of your life without suffering ill effects what would it be?
Chocolate and potatoes.

If you had to eat one meal morning, noon and night for the rest of your life without worrying about nutrition what would you pick? Mashed potatoes and chocolate cake.

If you could host a dinner party with any four famous people (living or dead) who would it be?
Thomas Jefferson, Julie Garwood, Albert Einstein and Tom Mison.

If you won the lottery what is the first thing you would do?
By each of my kids a house, my grandkids a pony and then a castle in Scotland.

If you were given $5000 to spend in only one store, what store would you spend it in?
Berners!

If you could permanently eliminate one pet peeve, what would it be and why?
People who yell at their kids.

What are three words your friends might use to describe you?
Crazy, funny and creative.

What are three words your family might use to describe you?
Nuts, Endora-like and Nuts.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment, personally or professionally?
Professionally? Being able to make a living as an author. Personally? Having three great kids!

What would the person who knows you best say is your best character traits?
My heart – I tend to be a giver.

Tell me at least one little known fact about you.
I used to be horribly, painfully shy!

That I could NOT do this without them. I appreciate each and every one of them. My readers are beautiful (or handsome as the case may be). I love hearing from my readers. I write for them.
