Highland Intrigue

Lady Gillian MacLennan’s clan needs a leader, but the last person on earth she wants as their laird is Fingal Maclan. She can neither forgive nor forget that his mother killed her father, and, by doing so, created Clan MacLennan’s current desperate circumstances.

King David knows a weak clan, without a laird, can change quickly from a simple annoyance to a dangerous liability, and he cannot ignore the turmoil. The MacIan’s owe him a great debt, so when he makes Fingal MacIan laird of clan MacLennan and requires that he marry Lady Gillian, Fingal is in no position to refuse.

In spite of the challenge, Fingal is confident he can rebuild her clan, ease her heartache and win her affection. However, just as love awakens, the power struggle takes a deadly turn.  Can he protect her from the unknown long enough to uncover the plot against them?  Or will all be lost, destroying the happiness they seek in each other’s arms?

I love this series but is there going to be a book for Gillian’s sister? It seemed like you were setting that up but I haven’t been able to find one.

I’m glad you enjoyed the series. The will be a book for Ailsa, I’m aiming for November. There will also be a book for Thomas.

So looking forward to reading Ailsa and Tomas’ stories. Loving this entire series❤️

  4. cecigiltenan says:

    Hi Vivienne,

Thanks for the kind words. It’s funny how certain characters emerge as a book is being written. Neither of these two were meant to be more than supporting characters for their respective stories, but they both sort of blossomed into more than that.

Just finished HIghland Intrigue (via Highland Heartthrobs. I love anthologies, because I get to meet new authors). This is the first one of your books I have read and I really liked it. Look forward to reading more. Want to sign up for your newsletter but for some reason I can not access the sign up page. Again, enjoyed your book.

      Hi Patricia,

We cannot get that link to work, nor can we remove it. My publishing company, Duncurra, will have a newsletter link soon. I’ll post it here when we do.

  6. Denise says:

Have you finished the book for Ailsa? I have been look for it but no luck so far

    • cecigiltenan says:

Ailsa’s story has not been written yet. My focus shifted off of the Duncurra series for a while. However, I am in the process of writing Tomas MacIan’s story, and hers will come after that–hopefully early this fall.

If you could pick who Ailsa ended up with, would it be Dougal MacKay (Fingal’s new squire at the end of Highland Intrigue) or someone else?

      • Hannah says:

Definitely Douglas MacKay, but as you say the universe unfolds as it should, so who ever she ends up with I am sure they’ll be a good match. Can’t wait for more books to read x

  7. cecigiltenan says:

Well Douglas is certainly in the running. If I can sort out the plot, Ailsa’s story will be coming in the fall. Until then, Tomas MacIan’s story will be released on June 27th. The pre-order will go up any day now.

Loved the Duncurra Series and I have also been looking for Ailsa’s story but in the meantime there is Thomas to read about now. I hope Ailsa’s story is completed soon.
