“So ye see, sometimes ye have to leave what is comfortable to find where ye are truly meant to be.”
~Rowan MacKenzie to his sister Mairead in Highland Courage
A year ago I was looking forward to the September release of my first novel, Highland Solution. I had a contract from a publisher, was nearly through the editing process and anxiously awaited cover art. I had no idea what would happen next, but I was excited; my dream was coming true. I knew nothing about the business, but I didn’t have to, my publisher handled everything.
That was comfortable.
Less than a year later, I have released a second book and both books became bestsellers on Amazon in their genres. I know a bit more than I did, and it is time to find where I am truly meant to be. After a bit of a rough patch, my publisher and I have parted ways on good terms. I have full rights to both books back . They have been reedited, new covers have been created and the e-books went live on Amazon and Barnes & Noble yesterday, with a new series name (Duncurra).

New paper back versions will follow soon!
Completing these changes over the last few weeks has been a crazy scramble, colored by emotions ranging from heartbreak to elation. Still, I am excited about this new bend in the river and I hope you will stay with me on the ride because there is so much yet to come.
I owe a few words of thanks to people who made this possible. First, my friend John at Story Perfect Editing and Kathryn Lynn Davis A-1 Editing Service helped me re-edit both books in record time. Second Su at Earthly Charms who created beautiful cover art that rebrands both books while still keeping some of the flavor of the original covers.
Finally, I cannot possibly adequately express my gratitude to the Guardians of Cridhe, Suzan Tisdale, Sue-Ellen Welfonder, Kathryn Lynn Davis, Lily Baldwin, Kate Robbins and Tarah Scott as well as authors H.D. Smith, Stephanie Cole, Jude Johnson, Kathyrn LeVeque and Tonya Ann Crosby. These women offered every kind of support possible from editing, to cover art, to late night calls to calm me down, to battle cries that invigorated my flagging spirit. Each of you are lovely to your very souls.
I’m so glad it all ended well for you Ceci. November 17 I will be looking forward to you 7’s venture, Highland Winds.
Thanks Debbie!!
